5m Telehandlers & Forklifts

Telehandler and forklift hire is easier than ever with Tiger Plant Hire in Swindon, Wiltshire. We offer a variety of options, from 5m forklifts to 17m telehandlers, to help you find the right product for the needs of your site.

If you’re looking to hire a compact and manoeuvrable forklift, our 5m range might be for you.

What Jobs Can a 5m Forklift Do?

Tiger Plant Hire has a variety of 5m forklifts that specialise in rough terrain environments, making them ideal for outdoor sites with limited mobility or simple transportation of payloads. Of course, smaller forklift trucks are designed to lift more compact payloads, so forklifts in this range will typically be able to lift and transport loads of up to 2,600kg.

Is a 5m Forklift Right for Me?

Hiring a forklift with a 5m vertical lift capacity is an ideal solution when you have limited onsite access. Naturally, the smaller the counterbalance truck is and the lower the mast, the more manoeuvrable it will be. For lifting objects in a simple up and down motion, counterbalance forklifts are the machines of choice.

Tiger Plant’s 5m forklifts are the smallest variety we offer. This is the most compact solution, with a mast that can lift loads between 3 and 5 meters high (depending on the truck). If you’re looking for something with additional reach – when you want to lift objects up and over objects, for example – a telehandler might be a better bet. Our telehandlers start in the 6m range.

For more information about the differences between a forklift and telehandler, see our main Telehandler & Forklifts page.

How Much Will My Forklift Hire Cost?

There are 3 key factors that influence the cost of hiring a forklift. These are:

  • The type of forklift you choose (counterbalance forklift or telehandler)

  • The size and maximum lift height/weight

  • How long the hire period is

Forklifts tend to be cheaper assets than telehandlers, especially when hired in smaller sizes. Because 5m forklifts are our smallest available machines, this makes them the least costly option.

The main consideration then is the length of the hire period. Longer term hire will cost less per week (in the region of £90), while shorter hire terms will run higher (typically more than double the standard long-term hire fees).

Hiring a Forklift Operator

Tiger Plant Hire also offers the option of hiring a telehandler or forklift operator if you don’t have an experienced driver on your team. They can assist with simple offloading and handling of materials, as well as more technical lifts in demanding environments.

Hiring an operator is the practical option when you are looking at a short-term forklift hire and need the job done quickly and reliably. Get in touch with us for more information.
